Anticipation Leads to...A Story...

She bent at the waist, her elbows on the window sill, peering out into the night, waiting for his headlights to pierce the darkness. When they came slicing through the air, she practically danced to the door, excitement pulsing through her veins, palpable and heavy, yet lifting her with grace in every step. Each heart beat pounded words through her ears, "He's here...he's here.."

The old doorknob, often sticky, opened easily as she pulled it open. She stood there briefly, watching as he left the car and stepped toward the house. A smile lit her face, matching his. He stopped for a moment, watching as she came bouncing out the door and down the sidewalk, her bare feet not feeling the cold of the concrete beneath them. She felt as if she were walking on clouds. In moments she was in his arms, lifted from the ground in a tight embrace, his comments about her bare feet drifting in one ear and out again.

She led him into the old house, pleased to show him all she had accomplished, their smiles staying fixed, their bodies close. After closing the door, she turned to him, again throwing herself in his arms, breathing him in. His warmth, his scent, things she had been craving since last they had met. Satisfying those cravings with deep breaths drawn in, her face pressed into his neck, warm and soft. Shivers of pleasure ran through her and she could feel his heart beat, his excitement in the way he held her, in the way his lips quivered the tiniest bit as he looked down at her, smiling.

"Show me the house, pet," he said with a smile, and taking him by the hand she led him through, proudly showing him all the things she had told him about; all the things she loved about her new life. His smile told her everything. It told her of his pride in her; of the happiness he felt at being there with her; of his own excitement mirroring hers. She led him through all of the rooms, saving the bedroom for last. The bedroom she had given such thought to, hoping that one day his body would grace it. Hoping that one day he would be there to hold her in his arms as she slept....

To be continued...
